International Forklift Truck of the Year Nominees, 2015
Back in January, we previewed the upcoming Fork Lift Truck Association Awards for Excellence, the UK’s premier awards event for the materials handling sector.
This time around, we set our sights overseas towards the International Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) competition, 2015, to be held in Germany in the not-too-distant future.
IFOY
Setup in order to highlight and celebrate outstanding developments in the world of forklifts and materials handling, the IFOY award helps to drive healthy competition between those companies operating in the manufacturing of equipment in this industry.
Now entering its third year, the award is the brainchild of logistics journalist Anita Würmser, an experienced consultant who often sits on the judging panel.
With big name sponsors, such as the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Sector Association, and partnerships with Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and CeMAT, the IFOY award has an understandable air of prestige about it, and 2015 looks set to be the biggest event yet. Manufacturers and organisations operating within the European market can enter the event, putting forward as many of their trucks for consideration as they wish.
There then follows a “test week”, with a specialist examination and inspection standard based on the Andersom Test, the results of which are then provided to an expert panel in order to inform their final decision as to the winner.
